WILLY Tech Shop embraces “Green” earth-friendly practices and showcase our own “ECO Shop” that features an entire line of “Green” technology products that includes accessories, used computer sales and more!

WILLY Tech Shop finds it is "easy being green!"

Green values drive the daily operations at WILLY Tech Shop, an Apple Authorized Service Provider that is 100% locally owned and operated providing computer sales, service, repair, on-site support and training located at 804 Williamson Street in Madison. The company serves a range of customers – from businesses and government to educators, students and individuals of all ages.

WILLY Tech Shop purchases 100% green power for its business operations from MG&E.

"We believe in maximizing what we can do to protect the environment," said Jonathan Neese, owner. "MG&E's Green Power Tomorrow program fits perfectly into that strategy. By paying just a little more on our energy bill each month, we are eliminating about 16 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year."

"That's a big impact – thank you for this opportunity," Neese added.

In every aspect of their business, the company embraces “Green” earth-friendly practices – “Our beautiful shop location, was built “Green” from day one with many wonderful, carefully thought out components thanks to the owners great desire to build an ecologically responsible space. The facility features sustainably grown bamboo flooring and woodwork, eco-friendly paint and energy-efficient lighting, just to name a few. The business also takes advantage of natural lighting.

“WILLY Tech Shop has implemented environmentally responsible practices that benefit the community socially and economically: Energy to the shop is provided by MG&E’s Green Power Tomorrow program; All eWaste that comes through the shop is recycled responsibly; “Green” technology products are available for purchase in our “ECO Shop” along with Certified Pre-Owned Macintosh computers, iPods and more; all employees are volunteers of The City of Madison Parks and as a team keep the Capitol City Trail clear of trash, just to name a few!,” Neese stated.

"There is a perception that technology is 'dirty' and bad for the environment," Neese said. "It doesn't have to be that way – you just need to be committed to handling it properly and remember to Reduce • Reuse • Recycle. We keep it simple by partnering with a local company to recycle all of our electronic waste and by providing “Green” purchasing options for our customers."

Working toward LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council could be on the company's agenda for the future.

"Many of our customers and neighbors have similar values," Neese said. "Buying renewable energy and conserving resources are ways we are working together to make a difference today and for future generations."

"Presently, WILLY Tech Shop is a full partner in the community and will continue to provide exceptional sales, service, training and on-site support in technology as well as find new and better ways to serve our community and environment," Neese said.
